Scott Spiers Respect is a good thing, and they took the time to infuse their love of All Things Heavy in an amazing rock album that reflected their sensibilities. I imagine more than one college student put on Dopesmoker or The Sciences after hearing this, and added a few more ears to our scene. In some small way, I’d like to return the favor. Favorite track: Burned.
Brant Heflin

Brant Heflin The razor-sharp electric blended with the powerful trio of vocals is a gorgeous mix. Add in the drums for a big powerful sound and this group is a winner. Favorite track: Master Manipulator.
Scholar Of Hyperion

Scholar Of Hyperion Track 4 is a banger by itself but the whole album itself is a fucking masterpiece! Keep up the good work. I see you becoming the Siouxsie and the Banshees of our generation. Favorite track: Burned.

Bruise 04:01
Cut the heartstrings Broke the wings off that red-headed songbird Broke the knife at the hilt Beat the chest ‘til every rib was bleeding And all the ghosts were singing You lost your joy And all the little men inside your head were screaming You passed the buck And all the women came to feast upon your silence Swallowed the lightning Let them follow you Breathed out the fire Your love is like a bruise Your hands were shaking And all your words turn to ice The bitter bitterness of life Little stones beneath your feet You carried them this far To lay them all the alter Swallowed the lightning Let them follow you Breathed out the fire Your love is like a bruise And all the ghosts were singing

Shot down from a promising sky and I’m picking up the pieces Shut my mouth, let the days go by Don’t wanna be one of “those bitches” I’m not ready yet to be alone Headspace? My headspace... My head’s a basket case Work, work, work until the dead is dead and I’m afraid I might just be too late I’m not ready yet to be alone You can’t see me anyway Shot down from a promising sky and I’m leaving all the pieces I’m not waiting for Godot to come by I’m gonna be one of “those bitches” But I’m not ready yet to be alone I’m not ready yet to be alone
3.
Cut 04:03
What did you expect Beneath fluorescent lamps With the cynical truth mirrors always tell First you take a breath Then you touch your flesh Find the sharp edge and plunge it in What did you expect Once release gave way to regret And your scars wear better than your shame And I can’t ask you why You need you need your knife To feel anything Release me Let the pain so wet Be wrung from my chest Release me
4.
Burned 04:40
You got a lot of nerve to wear that smile The light only shines through when you close your eyes Got a new suit on, new snakeskin shoes Everyone’s checking out that new tattoo But you better leave the car running You better slip out the back door You better get out of this town I’ve got a brand-new toy, I want to try it out Every time I see you move your mouth I’ve got a scalded heart, wrapped in steel ribs No time to scold you for the things you did But you better leave the car running You better slip out the back door You better get out of this town You’re talking tall in your sheep’s clothes Lying through your teeth now everyone knows Tried to leave no tracks, tried to leave no trace With no scent of consent, it’s hard to wipe away But you better get out of my way Or there’ll be some hell to pay You better get out of this town You better leave the car running You better slip out the back door You better get out of this town All your bridges are burning down

Watch me go Like a double-standard walking Call me out Try to split my heart in two Your christening Is a veil, a hollow story Just save your face ‘Cause that’s all you care to do (That’s all you care to fucking do) Say I’m blind To the victim and abuser You assume But you don’t know what you say I’m a woman rising over my dark shadow I’ve been abused But I’ve healed and walked away (I’ve walked away) I hear you talkin’ Nurture the fear that grows in you All for you I see right through it As what Townshend would say to you I’m right in tune
7.
Unbroken, we’ve built them Freedom to fly on “promised land” Misshapen, they withstand The wrath of Earth - no bigger plan We can go on forever Out of our damn minds Burning, destroying together Hate is lost inside Red exes, big fences We barricade the exits Back and forth we ignore The words of truth that time won’t tell We can go on forever Out of our damn minds Burning, destroying together Pain is lost inside
8.
Just now realized My self-destructive nights Lyin’ one more time So I can say I’m fine Breathe in salt water I hold my head under Feeling the still tide I finally rest my mind Waking up again With bricks in my head Rollin’ out of bed ‘Cause I don’t care Drawing twisted lines Stare back at empty eyes Drinking one more time So I can say I’m fine Waking up again With bricks in my head Rollin’ out of bed ‘Cause I don’t care
9.
It’s not right How I’m feeling The truth bites hard The hand that feeds it On and on and on Each lie floats away It’s not right The way you tease me The truth bites hard Each time you feed it On and on and on Each sound, turn away It’s not right How dare you? The truth’s not blind It’s coming for you On and on and on We will never forgive you
